Warsaw Tours
by Renata

Here I am - Renata, ready to guide you in Warsaw and in the Mazovia region, where I was born, brought up, studied literature and history at Warsaw University and have worked - for a certain time as a journalist, from time to time as a translator of literature (mainly novels), but most of the time as a tourist guide.

Working as a guide is my love, hobby and profession. I am happy to show beauty of Poland to visitors, and also help them to get to know and understand my country that experienced - as I did - many changes and survived - stronger and better.

I am an experienced, licenced guide, at first employed by big state tourist office, then doing that job free lance for other tourist offices and agencies. Also being recommended by my clients to their friends and acquaintances. I do private tours for individual visitors - following their interest and my knowledge. So I can show you Jewish Warsaw, as well as the catholic city with a lot of churches, or as a town where music is created and played. The town of Chopin, but also the place where the Mozart festival is held every summer.

Some tourists I met have Polish roots, many a time I helped them to find their families they had never seen before, or the places their parents come from. That makes such a trip fascinating and unforgettable - both for them and for me.

Warsaw city tour

Charm, history and contrasts in Poland's capital

See the highlights of Warsaw during a 4 hours tour – with me, by car and walking.

Warsaw is a green and clean town, so you will be taken to Lazienki Park (18th century) where you can stroll and admire palaces and pavilions hidden in thick greenery. Drive along Royal Route, almost completely rebuilt after WWII to its previous historical design. Walk in Warsaw Old Town, also rebuilt to its previous style, and put on the UNESCO cultural heritage list as the only place not original but reconstructed. See the house where Madame Curie was born, and where Chopin lived. We will also visit what was once the ghetto area.

With me you will see great contrasts of pre-war Warsaw, districts kept in socialistic-realistic style and recently constructed modern downtown called sometimes Warsaw Manhattan. And what about Warsaw Prague? This is how we call part of Warsaw on the right bank of the Vistula river, where a traditional bazaar still functions and where the famous film "The Pianist" by Polanski was made.

Warsaw and Royal Castle tour

Raised from the ashes

This is an extended option of the Warsaw city tour.

After visiting Lazienki park, where you can admire palaces and pavilions, then driving along Royal Route, walking in the Old Town - a site on the UNESCO cultural heritage list, seeing the houses where Madame Curie was born and where Chopin lived, we will stop in one of Old Town small cafés for lunch where you can savor Polish typical food, then visit Royal Castle, which though rebuilt in '70, shows a lot of miraculously saved original paintings, furniture and objects of art. This is where Polish kings lived, where sessions of Parliament took place, and where now you can see Rembrandt's paintings and other precious masterpieces.

Chopin's country: Warsaw and surroundings tour

Polish countryside: where mazurkas and polonaises were created

After 200th anniversary of Frederic Chopin's birthday, it is a must to visit the places where he lived and spent half of his life. His birthplace is exceptionally charming; in the village of Zelazowa Wola situated 55 km outside Warsaw, a lovely manor house later turned into a museum was his first home. After strolling in a small lovely park we will drive to Brochow to visit the unique (being stronghold and shrine at the same time) church where Frederic was baptized and his parents were married. Return to Warsaw along country road to see typical Polish villages with old wooden houses and stork nests.

On Sundays (May to September) there is the opportunity to listen to open air piano recitals performed by some of Poland's best pianists. If your visit comes on another day you can book the evening piano recital in one of the palaces in Warsaw (additional price 130 zlotys).

It is recommended to combine both tours: city tour of Warsaw in the morning, and in the afternoon Chopin's country tour.

Warsaw with Wilanow Palace tour

Visit Polish Versailles during Warsaw city tour

After the Warsaw city tour (where you can admire palaces and pavilions, drive along Royal Route, walk in the Old Town - a site on the UNESCO cultural heritage list - see the houses where Madame Curie was born and where Chopin lived) - and after lunch, we will drive to the suburbs of Warsaw to visit the interior of Wilanow Palace built in the 17th century by king Sobieski who defeated Turks in the battle of Vienna. Later belonging to aristocrat families, the palace became one of the very first museums in Poland.

This splendid Baroque palace (often called Polish Versailles) survived all wars, so you can still see its original interiors and stroll in its charming park in English and Italian style.
